Hi Gabriel, I've seen pictures of that painting posted on various websites but there was no reference to license status. Since you are a relative of V.M. I guess you might have some say in licensing the image.
I'm presently finishing an article on Antonio Sciortino for the Maltese Wikipedia [1] and would like to have a portrait or photograph at the beginning of the article. I can only use images which are not under copyright. Would you be ready to make a copy of that image available under GNU Public license or Creative Commons license? The image Metadata can contain metatdata with attribution to you or other sources. Creative Commons also provides the possibility of you reserving some rights. I've done this before eg. [2] and [3].
